Course on personal cloud storage to be offered at Northeast in West Point

WEST POINT – Northeast Community College in West Point will offer a class next month that introduces participants to personal cloud storage.

Cloud Storage (INFO 5260/18F & CRN #60202) will meet Monday, October 29, from 6:30-9:30 p.m. in Room 212 of the West Point Extended Campus, 202 Anna Stalp Avenue.

In this class, participants will explore the personal cloud storage services, sometimes referred to as online backup services, that allow for file sharing and collaboration. They will learn how to safely store presentations, files, pictures and other types of documents and make them accessible from any device at any time. Popular services to be discussed include iCloud and Dropbox.

Cost of the course, with Pattie Schinstock the instructor, is $30.

Microsoft Excel for business class coming to Northeast in West Point

WEST POINT – Northeast Community College in West Point will offer a Microsoft Excel class specially designed for business, beginning soon.

Microsoft Excel 2016 For Business (INFO 5115/18F & CRN #60203) will meet Tuesday, October 30, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., in the Northeast Community College Extended Campus, Room 212, at 202 Anna Stalp Avenue.

In this class, participants will discover business-specific skills in Microsoft Excel. They will learn to navigate the Excel user interface, perform basic calculations with formulas and functions, professionally format spreadsheets and create visualizations of data through charts and graphs. Spreadsheet software is one of the most common forms of software used in workplaces around the world, and learning to confidently operate Excel means organizing businesses for optimal productivity.

Cost of the class, with Diann Ballard the instructor, is $60.

Beginning sign language class set for Northeast Community College in West Point

WEST POINT – Northeast Community College in West Point will offer a beginning class on sign language next month.

Sign Language For Fun (INFO 5155/18F & CRN #60204) will meet two consecutive Thursdays, November 1 and 8, from 7-8:30 p.m. in Room 211 of the West Point Extended Campus, 202 Anna Stalp Ave.

In this introductory course to American Sign Language, participants will learn the various beginning signs. The two sessions will touch on manual finger spelling (alphabet), numbers, colors, people, places and food signs. Some basic conversation skills will also be covered.

Cost of the class, with Tessa Recker the instructor, is $30.
