NORFOLK, NE – Irene Sanz had 22 points while Mykala Baylor finished with 18 to lead the Northeast Community College women’s basketball team to an 82-65 win over North Platte Community College Wednesday night at the Cox Activities Center on the Northeast campus in Norfolk.

Kori Fischer came off the bench to score 11 points while Lauren Hunstad had nine. Nahatabaa Nacona led the Knights with 19 points.

Both teams shot well from the free throw line; North Platte was 15-18 while Northeast was 13-17. The Knights led at halftime, 38-36.

With the victory, the Hawks improve to 16-2.

Northeast will travel to Marshalltown, IA, on Saturday for a 5 p.m. meeting with Marshalltown Community College.
