Northeast women’s soccer earns win over Dakota County Tech, 7-0

ROSEMOUNT, MN – The Northeast Community College women’s soccer team shut out Dakota County Technical College here today, 7-0.

About three minutes into the game, Valentina Haboush scored the game’s first goal, while Kaylee Chapman followed with another a few minutes later. The Hawks’ defense did not allow a shot for the entire first half.

Northeast led at halftime, 4-0.

“We made great runs, possessed the ball well, and got some offense going,” said Northeast Coach Chad Miller. “I am very happy with (the team’s) performance today.”

Haboush, Katie Martindale and Juliana Medina each netted two goals for Northeast, while Chapman had one. Haboush and Chapman recorded two assists each and Cassie Pickrel, one.

Northeast finished with twelve shots on goal to Dakota County Tech’s six. Kaitlyn Van Surksum had six saves for the Hawks.

The Hawks (3-8-2) return to action on Wednesday, October 12, for their final home game of the regular season. They face Iowa Central Community College at Veterans Memorial Park in Norfolk at 4 p.m.
