Northeast Golf Takes Fifth At Region XI Championship

PANORA, IA – The Northeast Community College men’s golf team wrapped up their season with a fifth place finish at the Region XI men’s golf championship held at the Lake Panorama Golf Club Saturday andSunday.

The Hawks finished the eight-team tournament with a two-day total of 649. Kirkwood Community College took first with a total of 602. Iowa Lakes Community College carded 626 for second, while Des Moines Area Community College and Iowa Central Community College shot 628 and 641, respectively.

For Northeast, Michael Brockhaus and Dalton Lammers tied for 13th with two-day totals of 159 each. Preston Peters fired a 161 for 19th, and Stephen GrandPre finished 30th with 170. Two strokes behind GrandPre was Chase Hopper with a 172.

Carson Whittington and Jordan Even, both of Kirkwood, tied for medalist honors with 150.
