Hawks Come Up Short In 88-71 Loss To Southeastern CC

NORFOLK – The Northeast Community College men’s basketball team were handed their second straight conference loss in an 88-71 game against Southeastern Community College here Wednesday.

A closely contested first half ended with the Hawks trailing Southeastern by only three points, but the second half saw Southeastern outscoring the Hawks 41-32 to seal the 88-71 defeat.

Despite the loss, four Hawk players scored in double digits. Pierre Conwell led with 20 points, Vance Johnson had 16 points, and Kevin Metoyer and Marty Hill both finished with 12. Metoyer led assists with seven.

Southeastern was led in scoring by Briheam Anthony with 20 points.

Northeast next travels to Ottumwa, Iowa to face Indian Hills Community College on Saturday. Game time is 7 p.m.
