The Basic Physical Therapy Procedure students at Northeast Community College collected shoes and money this spring for the Shoes4Kids foundation. The future Physical Therapy Assistant class of 2016 raised 69 pairs of shoes and $10.00 to donate to Shoes4Kids which was founded by Brad Thuringer and the Physical Therapy Program at Lake Area Tech in Watertown, South Dakota. During the American Physical Therapy Association Annual Conference, the shoes will be going to the community of Alexandria, VA to provide new athletic shoes to underserved children and their entire family. Andrea Suhr, PTA Program Instructor at Northeast will personally deliver the shoes to Mr. Thuringer. Suhr said, “I am so proud of Northeast and our students on this campus. Thank you so much for your generosity to help my students be successful in their service learning project!”
