The 15th annual Northeast Community College Computer Programing contest is scheduled for Thursday, April 23, 2015 from 12 p.m. until 4 p.m.  Teams from Nebraska and Iowa are expected to attend and the registration deadline is April 17. The first 20 teams to register, with a maximum of 5 teams per school, will receive a spot in the contest. Each team may consist of two to four members, and a sponsor is required to register with each and every team.

The contest consists of nine programming questions given to the teams. The students must then solve the questions given and submit them to the judges via the flash drive and form given to them. Teams are judged on the validity of the answer to the question. Teams will be ranked according to the number of problems solved correctly. According to Richard Chrisman, Information Technology Instructor at Northeast, there will be two divisions of the competition, one for high school students which is free, and one for college students for $20 per team. Chrisman said, “It is a fun activity for our current students and it also gives them a measurement of how they stack up against other students talent wise.”
