NORFOLK – The Indian Hills Community College men’s basketball team avenged its only home loss this season here Saturday. The #9 Warriors defeated #23 Northeast Community College before a capacity crowd, 109-105. The Hawks end the regular season 26-4.

Northeast defeated Indian Hills for its only home loss of the season back on January 24, 138-128 in overtime.

Northeast now sets its sites on the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Regional XI Tournament which gets underway this week. The Hawks, the #2 seed, will host #3 seed Iowa Western Community College on Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the Cox Activities Center gymnasium on the Northeast campus in Norfolk. In The Hawks win Wednesday, they will play in the Regional XI Championship game Saturday night at a site yet to be determined.

Tonight, #4 Southeastern will host #5 Marshalltown in a play-in game in West Burlington, IA. The winner of that game will face top seed Indian Hills on Wednesday.  The winner of the Indian Hills/Southeastern/Marshalltown game will advance to the Region XI championship game.
