Former college and National Football League (NFL) running back Marcus Dupree will be speaking on Monday, November 17, at Northeast Community College in Norfolk. He will be in Hawks Landing in the Northeast Student Center from 2-3:30 p.m.

Dupree played for the University of Oklahoma, the New Orleans Breakers in the former United States Football League and the Los Angeles Rams in the NFL.

Dupree, who has been featured on ESPN’s 30 for 30, will speak about how he applies strength, drive, and perseverance that he learned as a player to other aspects of his life. He will also talk about being diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes in 2009. Dupree has become dedicated to raising awareness on the importance of properly managing blood sugar levels, exercising and eating right, and demonstrating that diabetes management can be successfully integrated into all aspects of life.
