Northeast Community College volleyball team has advanced to the second round of the National Junior College Athletic Association

NORFOLK – The Northeast Community College volleyball team has advanced to the second round of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region XI playoffs following a straight set victory over Ellsworth Community College Wednesday, November 5. The scores were 25-18, 25-18, 25-14.

Taryn Luedtke led the Hawks with eleven kills followed by ten kills from Brittany Sullivan. Kelsie Myers had 14 digs; Maggie Earney finished with 31 assists and Sydney Whitmarsh recorded two ace serves and one solo and two assist blocks. Northeast moves on to face #10 Des Moines Area Community College in a District Championship match at the site of second round action, North Iowa Area Community College in Mason City, IA, on Saturday, November 8, at 2 p.m.
