Record Turnout For Spook-tacular

Over 1600 people attended the Spook-tacular Children’s Carnival at the Ag Complex on the Northeast Community college campus Wednesday evening. This was the largest turn out the carnival has ever had.  Booths with games, prizes, candy and fun were set up by the different student organizations on campus. Norfolk community families say they attend every year because it is fun for the kids and a safe and convenient Halloween party.

Children and adults played all kinds of games, from spinning the fruit basket roulette wheel for prizes, to the Pop Ring toss and a scary trip through the Haunted House created by the Student Activities Council (SAC).

There was also a long line for the Vet Tech Club’s petting zoo which is always a popular attraction.

The Viewpoint held a ‘count how many candy corn are in the jar’ contest. There was a tie for first place and both winners received a $10 gift certificate to the Big Top Party Shop in Norfolk. Proceeds from Spook-tacular help campus clubs with fundraising. The carnival was sponsored by the SAC volunteers.
