Whitney Tyrrell, current student at Northeast Community College, proves that it is possible to publish a book. Her book, “Waiting for Something”, is on Amazon at this very moment waiting to be bought and read. It is not very hard to publish a book on Amazon, according to Tyrrell, “The process was pretty simple, I just made an account and made sure I agreed to all the terms and conditions. That took a little bit, though.”
According to USA Today, 82% of adults in America want to write a book. How many of them actually follow through with their wish? Probably about a quarter. When asked what made her keep going, Tyrrell answered, “So many things, my passion for writing, the people who would love to see me fail and the people who would love to see me succeed.” She also said that it wasn’t difficult to make herself finish the book because she had a story to tell and she wanted to tell it.
While writing her book, Tyrrell learned that it takes a lot of time and a lot of hard work to get it done. She also learned that you cannot trust just any publishing company because a lot of people want to rip you off. So be careful, aspiring writers, when you are looking for a publishing company.
Tyrrell is currently working on another book, which, according to her, is much better than the first one. It’s not a sequel to “Waiting for Something” but it will be a part of its own series. When asked if she was going to miss her characters in her first book, she replied, “I miss Jake, he’s my favorite, but I’m more attached to my new characters now. I don’t know what I’m going to do when I have to say goodbye to them.”
