Norfolk Arts Center holding auditions for Treasure Island with popular Missoula Children’s Theater on Monday, June 23rd.

The Norfolk Arts Center is bringing back the popular group, Missoula Children’s Theater with their production of Treasure Island June 23-28 and they are calling all area kids for auditions!

Auditions for Treasure Island will be held on Monday, June 23rd from 10a.m. to 12p.m. at Cox Activities Center on Northeast Community College. Those auditioning should arrive at 10a.m. and plan to stay for the full two hours. Some of the cast members will be asked to stay for a rehearsal immediately following the auditions. The cost to participate in Missoula will be $15 for Arts Center members and $30 for non-members.

Among the roles to be cast are Jim Hawkins, his six sisters, a rollicking Pirate Crew, Jim’s Ruffian Friends, seacoast Villagers and cuddly Gulls. Students entering 1st grade through 12th are encouraged to audition. No advance preparation is necessary. Assistant directors will also be cast to aid in rehearsals throughout the week and to take on essential backstage responsibilities.

The Missoula Children’s Theater touring productions are complete with costumes, scenery, props and makeup. Actors and directors will conduct rehearsals throughout the week from 10a.m. to approximately 2:30p.m. each day.

Treasure Island will be presented on Saturday, June 28th at 3p.m. and 6p.m. at the Cox Activities Center on the NECC campus. Tickets for one performance will be: Children $3, Adults $7 and tickets for both performances will be: Children $5, Adults $10.
