NORFOLK – Southeast Community College claimed honors Sunday at the Northeast Community College golf invitational. Weather cut short the two-day event to Sunday’s round at Fairplay Golf Course. Day two on Monday was to be played at the Norfolk Country Club, according to Northeast Coach Brad Bosh.
The Storm finished with a team total of 306. The Midland University JV was a distant second with 321 while Northeast was third with 324. Elsewhere, Midland University B had 351, Northeast B shot a 354, and Central Community College finished with a 361.
Zack Taylor of Southeast took individual medalist honors with a 71 while Clint Kracl of the Midland JV followed with a 74.
Northeast’s Michael Bergquist was one of four players to tie for third after shooting a 78. Also for the Hawks, Alex Dredge, Conner Watson and Justin Mlnarik each shot an 82. Northeast B team members Trae Deeder and Mike Smith both carded 85s.
Northeast Community College will be in action on Monday, March 31st at the Southeast Community College Invitational at the Beatrice Country Club.
