HUTCHINSON, KS – The Northeast Community College men’s basketball team fell to the host team at the Hutchinson Community College McDonald’s Classic Friday night in Hutchinson, KS, 109-88. With the loss, Northeast is 10-4.
The Hawks were down 73-70 to the 18th ranked Blue Dragons with eight minutes left to play, but could not get any closer. Hutchinson performed well at the line, shooting 40 free throws and netting 32.
Khapri Alston led Northeast with 20 points – 18 in the first half. Joining him in double figures was Jabbar Washington with 17, Anthony Woods with 13, and Buay Tauch with 12.
Tournament action continues on Saturday as the Hawks take on Sunrise Christian Academy. Tip-off is set for 3:30 p.m.
