The bidding war for Hard Rock Sioux City is gaining momentum in popularity within the community. KTIV reported that social media has been a huge help in engaging people into the project. All three casinos have been using pinterest, twitter, You Tube, and especially facebook to gain community support.
Social media has become a very important marketing tool to get more people personally interested in the casino’s new developments. In fact, Hard Rock officials went a step forward to gain awareness of the project. Over presidents day weekend they took a demo of what the casino would look like to the Southern Hills Mall. They received more than five hundred signatures in a petition for the casino.
The Sioux City Journal covered the event and Hard Rock officials say the project has received more than eight thousand commitments of support. Mainly coming from eighty percent of Siouxland residents. This is the first time The Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission will consider social media as a part of the voting process. The IRGC will vote on April, 18th.
The Hard Rock Casino is offering more than just a place to gamble. They want to draw in local people and tourists for year round events. It will consist of not only slots and the most familiar table games but include a Hard Rock Hotel. Numerous retail options will be available on the property and two restaurants and a buffet. Paradise Theatre will feature live local and national acts. The outdoor event lawn will have concerts, festivals, and movies in the park.
