Getting back in gear for college can be tough. New classes, teachers, and homework can be hard to balance. Here are five of the best apps for your iPhone, iPad, or Android phone, that can help you get organized and on the right track for the semester.

No matter what your majoring in these apps will help you study and find quick answers for research, and the great thing is most of these apps are free!

For those of you who have the iPhone or iPad, iTunes is already installed on your device. Besides music, you can also download lectures, course material, and presentations. It even has content from the top universities around the world.

Wikipedia Mobile is an app for finding a quick answer or researching a topic for a paper. It can help you answer almost any question. This app is free for iPhone, iPad, and Android users. has a database of over two million definitions, a thesaurus and a word of the day. You can also look up words and phrases offline if you don’t want to connect to the Internet. This app if free, but if you want an ad free app you can upgrade it for $2.99.

WolframAlpha is an app that can interpret pretty much any question and access a wide range of data bases. It covers all the basic courses like mathematics, physics, chemistry, and earth science. No matter what you have a question on, it will find it. This app can be used with iPhone, iPad and Android, and is available, ad free, for $1.99.

For those of you taking a foreign language, Google Translate is the app for you. It has 60 different languages available for translation. This app is free for iPhone, iPad, and Android users.
