In the final home game of the regular 2011-2012 season, the Hawks won a very close game over Lamar Community College and North Platte Community College. The game was very close throughout ending in a 75 to 73 victory. For most of the game the leading force in the team was Sophomore number 22 Cameron Adderley. Adderley led the Hawks with 21 points. For the first half of the game was mostly led mainly by the hawks with a score of 40 to 30 by the end of the first half. The Hawks led a very had a very strong offense for the most part with a total of 23 defensive rebounds in the entire game. The defensive strength of the Hawks was also met in strength by Lamar’s offensive skills. Even though the Hawks were very strong in defense, Lamar met them with a strong offense. Lamar had a total of 52 rebounds compared to the Hawks 35. The Hawks had a total of 10 turnovers compared to Lamar’s 18.
The team also took on North Platte Community College two days later. Again like in the victory over Lamar Community College, Cameron Addereley was the Hawks main leading component that help lead the team to victory. With a total of 17 points, Adderley was one of the main defensive forces the Hawks have had this season. The second main proponent of the team has been Freshman number 20 KJ Bluford. In the game against Lamar, Bluford scored a total of 19 points and the same amount of points against North Platte Community College. Unlike the game against Lamar, this game was very close in both halves. The first half the Hawks led with a two point lead over North Platte with a very close score of 32 to 31. The second half was close with the Hawks again leading the game but this time by a total of three points. The Hawks went on to play at the Region 9 Basketball tournament in Hutchinson, Kansas.
