NORFOLK – Three Northeast Community College volleyball players ended the night with double-digit kills as the Hawks (12-9, 5-0 ICCAC) defeated Hawkeye Community College in four sets in ICCAC action at the Cox Activities Center in Norfolk.

Set scores were: 25-27, 25-13, 25-14 and 25-15.

Brianna Bauer (O’Neill, Neb.) led the Hawks’ offense with 16 kills to finish the night with a .270 hitting percentage. Sophmores Hannah Heppner (Stanton, Neb.) and Elley Beaver (Columbus, Neb.) had 12 and 11 kills, respectively. Beaver also added 12 digs and two blocks, while Heppner had two blocks.

Josie Sanger (Crofton, Neb.) notched 22 digs and Jamie Bonifas (Blue Hill, Neb.) recorded 47 assists and 11 digs.

The Hawks compete in the Central Community College Tournament on Friday and Saturday. Northeast will face Butler Community College and Cowley County Community College at 1 and 3 p.m. Friday. On Saturday, the Hawks battle Bismarck State College and Kansas City Kansas Community College at 9 and 11 a.m. in Columbus.
