Hawks baseball drops two to #8 Kirkwood

NORFOLK, NE – The Northeast Community College baseball team wrapped up their home conference series with Kirkwood Community College here today. The Hawks dropped both games, 12-1 and 7-4.

In the first game, Christian Dumont was 1-2 and scored the only run for Northeast. Kaden Hendrix also finished 1-2. Alex Fetters was the losing pitcher.

Game two saw Brennen Bales going 4-4 with a home run, one RBI and one run scored. Donovan Warren was 1-5 with a home run, two RBIs and one run scored. Lane Koetter took the loss.

Kirkwood is currently ranked eighth in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II poll.

The Hawks (16-28-1 overall, 5-15 in conference) will host McCook Community College at Veterans Memorial Field in Norfolk on Wednesday. Game time is 2 p.m.
