The little boy who made headlines this week for rounding up the Avengers for a special hello has reportedly died. Fox News Channel’s Shannon Bream tweeted Wednesday that Emilio Pachon had “lost his fight” with neurofibromatosis, a genetic disorder that frequently causes tumors and can lead to cancer. “Thank you to the thousands who pitched in so that he could hear from some of his heroes in his last days. You lit up his hospital room and blessed his family,” she tweeted. “Emilio’s simple request launched an avalanche of goodness and miracles.” Bream had put out the plea on Monday, calling on Twitter’s help to alert an Avenger to Emilio’s dying wish: a greeting from a superhero. The post went viral, and quickly caught the attention of a slew of real-life superheroes. “Just off work now. Suited up already,” tweeted Jeremy Renner, who plays Hawkeye. “I’m the purple one. DM me,” tweeted Paul Bettany, the voice of J.A.R.V.I.S. in “Iron Man” and Vision in “The Avengers,” while Chris Evans (aka Captain America) wrote that he was also “happy to” help. Don Cheadle, who plays War Machine, also offered his assistance on Twitter, as did many others, including Ryan Reynolds. “I’m more of a ‘Reserve Avenger’. But happy to help. DM me,” the “Deadpool” star joked. Bream said Tuesday Emilio had received videos from Ant-Man Paul Rudd, Bettany, Evans, Cheadle, Benedict Wong and Zachary Levi, and was anticipating clips from Chloe Bennett, Clark Gregg, Elizabeth Olsen, Mark Ruffalo, Tom Holland, Reynolds and Renner. The “Fox News @ Nite” host also encouraged more messages from any superheroes who wanted to pitch in, directing them toward Emilio’s younger twin brothers. Emilio discussed his battle with NF1 in a video shared to the Gene Foundation’s website, and said he’d had five surgeries on his spine and four on his leg. The young boy also expressed his desire to enter showbiz one day, and be either an actor or director in an action film.
