WINNEBAGO – The Northeast Community College women’s basketball team picked up another win here Wednesday, defeating Little Priest Tribal College, 91-31.

“We had the game under control after the first quarter, and all of our players got good playing time,” said Hawks Coach Matt Svehla.

“It was nice to see Melanie Bateman back on the court from an ankle injury as well. We still have two girls out due to injuries, but hopefully they’ll return soon.”

Five Northeast players scored in the double digits. Maddie Egr put up 19 points, while Cynthia Jorge had 13. Iva Belosevic, Maeva Kitantou and Aida Santana finished with ten each.

The Hawks (6-1) will return home on Saturday when they face North Dakota State College of Science (NDSCS) in a 2 p.m. game at the Cox Activities Center on the Norfolk campus. Earlier this season, Northeast fell to NDSCS by three points at the NDSCS Classic.
