WINNEBAGO – The Northeast Community College men’s basketball team has improved to 4-2 after defeating Little Priest Tribal College here Wednesday, 111-58.

Northeast went on a 20-6 run toward the end of the first half to take a 54-32 lead over the Warriors. Early in the second half, the Hawks continued the pace with an unanswered 26-point run.

“We played a good Little Priest team and were challenged early,” said Hawks Coach Dan Anderson. “It was nice to see our guys respond to some adversity. We just have to keep building every day.”

Northeast was led by sophomores Milan Skundric with 18 points, Vance Johnson with 16 and Marty Hill, 15. Freshman Melkisedek Moreaux finished with 17 points, including a dunk that had the crowd on its feet.

The Hawks returns home on Saturday when they face North Dakota State College of Science (NDSCS) at 4 p.m. in the Cox Activities Center on the Norfolk campus. In their previous meeting earlier this season at the NDSCS Classic, Northeast fell to the Wildcats, 97-85.
