Northeast Community College has a number paid student jobs, and one of the more interesting places to work is the Chuck Pohlman Ag Complex. Students setup for events that occur throughout the school year.

Kreg Schlautman is pursuing an Ag degree at Northeast, and he supervises as the operations manager at the Ag Complex.  Schlautman says, “Workers are able to keep up on studies throughout the semester and average between 20-25 hours a week depending on events happening at the Ag Complex”. Under Schlautman there are currently four other student workers that help during the fall and spring semesters. There are many different implements that are used to help set up for the events. Students are able to use tractors from the Ag Complex and the College farm to assist them.

According to Schluatman, events are usually Ag based where four beef shows occur for 4H and FFA participants. Other events included are the Home show, Farm show, and Relay for Life throughout the semester. October events that are being held out at the Ag Complex are Sober in October and the annual Spook-tacular Children’s Carnival.
