COLUMBUS – It was a tough weekend for the Northeast Community College volleyball team. On Saturday, the Hawks fell in two matches at the Central Community College Tournament here.

In the first match of the day, Bismarck State College beat the Hawks in four sets 22-25, 25-23, 29-31, 25-19,

Taryn Luedtke finished with 18 kills, Meagan Backer had 32 digs while Brittany Sullivan had 28, and Maggie Earney contributed with 36 assists.

Later that day, Cowley Community College swept the Hawks 25-16, 25-22, 25-19.

Sullivan recorded 12 kills and 24 digs, while Backer had 20 digs and Earney registered 30 assists.

On Friday, Northeast fell to Williston State College and Kansas City (KS) Community College in the same tournament.

On Tuesday, Northeast (14-12) will host North Platte Community College in the Cox Activities Center on the Northeast campus in Norfolk at 7 p.m.
